Celebrate the longest day of the year with yoga instructors from CorePower Yoga, as they lead us through an early morning yoga session in Flowers Field. Watch the sun rise over downtown Raleigh on the first day of summer as you breathe, stretch, relax and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. This session is suitable for all ages and abilities. Previous knowledge of yoga is not necessary.

Please arrive at 5:45am, and find a spot in Flowers Field. We'll get started a little after 6 a.m. We are so excited to ring in the official start of summer with you at beautiful Dorothea Dix Park!

Know Before You Go
Parking: Going southeast on Western Boulevard (toward downtown Raleigh), turn right onto Hunt Drive. Turn right onto Umstead Drive. Follow Umstead Drive and turn right onto Barbour Drive. Turn right into the parking lot driveway. Park and walk across the field. Parking is available in the NC State University Lot at the corner of Barbour Drive and Umstead Drive.
Attire: Bring a yoga mat or towel, and a filled water bottle. Walking in grass and up and down hills will be necessary.
Food and Restrooms: There are no bathrooms in the park and no drinkable water, so please plan to bring a water bottle and come prepared to only have port-a-johns available.
