Third Community Meeting for the Dorothea Dix Park Master Plan coming Wednesday, June 13

Dorothea Dix Park will host another community meeting on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the park in Haywood Gymnasium at 805 Ruggles Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603. This will be the third of five large community meetings to be held during the master plan process.

Dorothea Dix Park to hold public meeting on Thursday, March 22

The City of Raleigh and Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy invites you to attend the second public meeting on the master planning of Dorothea Dix Park on Thursday, March 22. It will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts at 2 East South Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.

Dix Park Master Plan Advisory Committee Announced

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department has announced the volunteers to serve on the Dorothea Dix Park Master Plan Advisory Committee.

Master Plan Advisory Committee members will perform a variety of roles including but not limited to the following:

Advise - Committee members will represent the broad interests of the community and be advisers to the consultant team and the City.

Mayor to Visit Dalai Lama in May; Residents Can Sign Tibetan Prayer Flags for Spiritual Leader on Sunday

Mayor Nancy McFarlane will be traveling to India next month to visit the Dalai Lama --- and she wants to take Raleigh residents with her, at least spiritually.

The mayor will be presenting His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama with Tibetan prayer flags. Residents are invited to come out to Dix Park Sunday to write a prayer on the flag and sign it. The prayer flag will also serve as an invitation to the Dalai Lama to visit Raleigh.
