Legacy Series: In Plain Sight

Dix Park Legacy Series: In Plain Sight

Learn about the recent discovery, preservation, and repatriation of a 650-year-old canoe to the Coharie tribal community, and how return of artifacts like the canoe help North Carolina American Indians reclaim their past.

Indigenous scholar, Dr. Ryan Emanuel will highlight North Carolina Native Americans’ thousands of years of history, providing testament to North Carolina’s indigenous descendants claim that, “We Are Still Here".
