Great Backyard Bird Count at Dix Park

Learn about our local birds and contribute to a global database of bird populations at the North Carolina kickoff of the 22nd Great Backyard Bird Count. The Great Backyard Bird Count is a fun activity for all ages and birding skill levels. Beginners are welcome!

First Lady of North Carolina Kristin Cooper and David Yarnold, president and CEO of the National Audubon Society, will give brief opening remarks. Then expert guides from Wake Audubon Society will lead small groups in counting birds for 15 minutes throughout the park. Bring your own binoculars if you have them; we’ll also have binoculars you can borrow.

Time: 9:00 - 11:00 am

Please RSVP if you plan to attend this event. Having a count of how many people to expect helps us plan and we can contact you of any changes to the program.
