Explore Dorothea Dix Park: Winter in the Wild
Engaging activities will allow little ones to understand how animals in the wild survive the cold months of winter. Live creatures to see and touch will create a memorable experience for all!

Location: The Big Field at Dix Park
From Western Boulevard, turn onto Hunt Drive. Turn right onto Umstead Drive. Turn left onto Blair Drive. Turn left onto Barbour Drive. Follow the Big field to the SECOND gravel parking lot on your right.
Know Before You Go:
- Please arrive a few minutes before 11. We know that sometime late arrivals can't be helped, but arriving late can disrupt the attention of the group.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Walking in grass and up and down hills will be necessary.
- There are no bathrooms in the park and no drinkable water, so please plan to bring a water bottle and come prepared to only have portajohns available.
