Connect + Create: Mindful Mending

Using a garment or heirloom as a foundation, learn how to use embroidery to mend and embellish. You will learn introductory embroidery techniques and how to apply them as decoration or artform to objects around you. Bring one or more garments or fiber pieces to work with.

Instructor: Sarah Witney

The program is geared for all ages. Due to the materials and processes used in this class we recommend participants are 5 years of age or older, for younger participants parent or guardian supervision is required.

This program is free to the public thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors and our partners at Artspace.

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Location: The Chapel

Registration: Participation is limited. Registration is required. 

Registration opens one week in advance at 12:00 pm.

Accessibility

Dorothea Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some outdoor areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.

Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.

Restrooms: Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the Chapel. Accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field.
