Join us for a free 2-hour, 3.5 mile walking tour exploring the history of the buildings, land, and legacy of Dorothea Dix; the current use of the area as the headquarters of the Department of Health and Human Services; and the next steps the City is taking to plan the future of the park.

Our walking tours are very popular and fill up quickly! Registration is required.
Weather
If there is inclement weather, the tour will be canceled and rescheduled. Registered participants will be notified by email.
Know Before You Go
- Walking up hills, in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary.
- Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Port-a-johns are the only restroom facilities available with no drinking water.
- Please plan to bring a water bottle.

Accessibility
Dorothea Dix Park continues to work to be accessible and welcoming for visitors with disabilities and limited mobility. Accessible Parking with reserved spaces is available in all lots on campus. Handicap accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces are not ADA accessible at this time.
