Dorothea Dix Park: Past, Present and Future
This free 2-hour, 3.5 mile walking tour will cover the history of the buildings, land, and legacy of Dorothea Dix; the current use of the area as the headquarters of the Department of Health and Human Services; and the next steps the City is taking to plan the future of the park.

Tickets: Participation is limited to 25 people per tour. Registration is required.

Know Before You Go
Walking up hills, in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary. There are only port-a-johns available for restroom facilities in the park. Please plan to bring a water bottle. The tour will be canceled and rescheduled if there is inclement weather and registered participants will be notified by email.
Dorothea Dix Park continues to work to be accessible and welcoming for visitors with disabilities and limited mobility. Accessible Parking with reserved spaces are available in all lots on campus. Handicap accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces are not ADA accessible at this time.
