Little Explorers: Dragons of the Pond
Preschoolers will have fun learning about animals and nature at the park. Stories, games, songs, and live creatures bring this program to life for little learners!
This program is for children ages 2-6 only. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive a few minutes before 11:00 am. We know that sometimes late arrivals can't be helped, but arriving late can disrupt the attention of the group.
This program is free to the public thanks to Raleigh Parks Nature Programs.

Registration: Space is limited, registration required. Please register each child, adults do not need to register.
Registration opens one week in advance at 12:00 pm.
Know Before You Go
Walking in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Port-a-johns and water fountain are available near the program location.
Dorothea Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.
Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.
Restrooms: Accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the newly renovated Chapel during open hours.
