Little Explorers: For Goodness Snakes
Little Explorers are invited to slither on over to the park and discover the truth about snakes, these often-misunderstood animals. Through songs and games, little ones will have fun learning where snakes live, what they eat and how they grow. We will even get to see up close and touch some live captive snakes.
This program is for children ages 2-6 only. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Oak Lawn at Dix Park, 691 Palmer Drive, Raleigh, NC, 27603
Registration: Space is limited, registration required. Please register each child, adults do not need to register.
Registration opens one week in advance at 12:00 pm.

Know Before You Go

Walking in grass and on uneven surfaces will be necessary. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Accessibility
Dorothea Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dorothea Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.
Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.
Restrooms: Accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the newly renovated Chapel.
Programs and events: Raleigh Parks Inclusion Services works with community members to support participation.
