Can you imagine carrying a shell on your back both day and night? Preschoolers will discover animals that do just that! We'll play games, sing songs and see and touch live snails, clams and turtles.
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
This program is for children ages 2-6 only. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
You MUST pre-register for this program. Please register each child, adults do not need to register. This event is free to the public thanks to Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy donors.
Location: The Big Field at Dix Park, 101 Blair Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603
Know Before You Go:
Parking: Turn onto Hunt Drive. Turn right onto Umstead Drive. Turn left onto Blair Drive. Turn left onto Barbour Drive. Follow the Big field to the SECOND gravel parking lot on your right.
Arrival: Please arrive a few minutes before 11. We know that sometime late arrivals can't be helped, but arriving late can disrupt the attention of the group.
Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes; walking in grass and up and down hills will be necessary.
Food and Restrooms: There are no bathrooms in the park and no drinkable water, so please plan to bring a water bottle and come prepared to only have port-a-johns available.
