Plant Pals: Houseplants 101

Join Urban Pothos for informative houseplant workshops. Houseplants are living organisms that require care for them to thrive. The folks at Urban Pothos don't believe in black thumbs. They believe everyone has the ability to be an amazing plant parent with a little guidance.

During Houseplants 101 course our plant expert will cover a variety of topics including watering your plants, proper lighting, humidity issues, pests, and more. You'll leave with the knowledge you need to continue or start your plant parenthood journey in confidence.

The workshop includes:

  • 1 workbook filled with information you'll need to care for your plants
  • 1 plant to take home with you
  • All materials needed to repot your plant
  • 10% off coupon to be used at Urban Pothos during your next visit

This program is free to the public thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors.

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Location: The Chapel

Registration: While free to attend, space is limited. Registration is required.

Registration opens 2 weeks in advance at 12:00 pm.

Accessibility

Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.

Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.

Restrooms: Accessible port-a-johns are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available in the newly renovated Chapel.

Programs and events: Raleigh Parks Inclusion Services works with community members to support participation. To request a program modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), please complete and submit the Accommodation Request Form or contact Inclusion Services staff at 919-996-2147 or ParksInclusion@raleighnc.gov.
