State of Change: Planting Piedmont Grasslands Screening
Join Dix Park Conservancy & Extra Terrestrial Projects for a free screening and discussion of PBS NC’s State of Change: Planting Piedmont Grasslands Helps Fight Climate Change.
Grasslands and prairies are native to North Carolina’s ecosystem. These unassuming swaths of land provide critical habitat for wildlife and pollinators and can actually change the soil around them for the better - improving the soil’s ability to store carbon. By taking excess atmospheric carbon out of the air, prairies and grasslands have innumerable environmental benefits.
Speakers include:
Justin Robinson, Sustainable Landscapes Manager at Extra Terrestrial Projects
Tara Mei Smith, Co-founder of Extra Terrestrial Projects
Nick Neptune, Director of Outreach at Dix Park Conservancy
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Location: Dix Park Chapel
