Event Details
This interactive experience welcomes all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced musicians—and focuses on creating rhythm together in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Experience free-form drumming where participants can explore self-expression, connect with others, and experience the collective energy of group music-making. Drum circles are known to help reduce stress, improve focus, and foster a strong sense of belonging and community. No prior musical experience is needed—just a willingness to listen, participate, and have fun.

Registration
Space is limited, registration is required. Registration opens two weeks in advance of each program date at 12:00 pm.
This program is free to the public thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors.
Know Before You Go
Participants are invited to bring their own instruments or borrow from a shared collection of drums and percussion provided on site.

- Via Western Boulevard: Enter at Hunt Drive or S. Boylan Avenue
- Via Lake Wheeler Road: Enter at Umstead Drive
- Follow signs towards Stone Houses Visitor Center
- Parking is located in Lot C
If there is inclement weather, the walk will be canceled and registered participants will be notified by Eventbrite email.
Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for all park improvements and development.
Parking: ADA parking spaces for the Stone Houses are located behind the buildings off Tate Dr.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available at the Superintendents House public restroom facility seven days a week from 8 am - 8 pm
Building Entrances: Ramps are located at the rear of the buildings.
Multiuse Path: The connection from the Rocky Branch Greenway to Umstead Dr. in front of the Stone Houses is fully accessible.
Programs and Events: Raleigh Parks Inclusion Services works with community members to support participation.
