Overlooking downtown Raleigh, the Greg Poole, Jr. All Faiths Chapel is a unique venue in the heart of Dix Park. The historic building is surrounded by an event lawn, front terrace and lovely gardens. Built in 1955, the chapel’s mid-century modern architecture is well preserved with decorative wood elements, a rose stained-glass window, terrazzo floors, and mid-century stainless fixtures. Renovated in 2020, the chapel now provides all the amenities of a modern community gathering space while retaining its historic charm.
The main hall accommodates approximately 200 guests seated at tables, 400 guests seated auditorium style, or 450 guests standing reception style.

The Event Lawn can be reserved for outdoor gatherings and events independent of renting the indoor Chapel venue. The space is grass covered and beautifully landscaped with shade trees and a brick seating bench surrounding the lawn.

Magnolia Room
Dix Park has two picnic and play areas available to rent for birthday parties and other social gatherings.

Oak Room
The Outdoor Classroom is an inviting and versatile space located at the Stone House Visitor Center. This thoughtfully designed area is equipped with patio furniture and built-in amphitheater style seating, perfect for small gatherings. This space offers a stunning view of rolling hills and is adjacent to the ATTUN art sculpture, adding a touch of artistic charm to your event. Enjoy the convenience of nearby parking, permanent restrooms, and accessible pathways.
Note: The Stone Houses Visitor Center is open to the public on Thursdays & Fridays 9:00am - 2:00pm and Saturdays & Sundays 9:00am - 5:00pm. Public restrooms are open 8:00am - 8:00pm daily.

Adams Field offers a generous, flat expanse perfect for a variety of events. This field can accommodate your needs with simplicity and flexibility. Adams Field is located across from the Big Field.
Note: Available to rent Monday - Fridays after 5:00pm and during park hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
Mature oak trees create a shaded oasis on this grassy hillside complete with perfectly framed views of the Raleigh Skyline.

Frequently Asked Questions
All outdoor spaces at Dix Park are open to the public from dawn until dusk 7 days-a-week. Spaces are available for use on a first come, first serve basis for small gatherings, picnics and non-commercial events.
A Dix Park event rental and/or permit is required if any of the following is true:
- Reserved space is desired for your event
- You want to set-up tents or event rentals, use generators, rent port-a-johns, etc.
- Alcohol would be served
- Your event is commercial in nature (cost to attend, etc.)
- Your outdoor event would have over 200 participants
Dix Park event rentals are managed by Staff with City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department.

Dix Park offers three rentable zones to accommodate luxury picnic businesses. Rental reservations are required for all commercial picnic businesses. Book up to 30 days in advance.
