Fountain Plaza

At the heart of the park is the impressive civic plaza, welcoming visitors from all directions and offering nearly half an acre of community gathering space. Benches and café tables provide everyday seating.

Waterfall & Splash Pad

Cascading from a small fishpond 15 feet above the iconic stone feature walls is the interactive Waterfall and Splash Pad inspired by the beautiful natural waterfalls of Western North Carolina. Visitors are invited to explore behind the waterfall and splash through the jets of water below.

Designed with families in mind, the restroom building on is made up of 10 restroom cabanas with space to change clothes.

The Grand Stair

From atop the grand stair visitors are treated to sweeping views of Gipson Play Plaza and the Raleigh skyline beyond. The steps themselves create amphitheater-like seating for the plaza, providing the perfect setting for events or performances. ADA paths are to either side of the staircase.
