Join us for a guided picnic bike ride around Dix Park enjoying fall treats and colorful foliage.
The group will roll out from Flowers Field shortly after 11:00 AM and ride together to House of Many Porches, where participants can purchase picnic items of their choice. We’ll then return as a group to Dix Park for a picnic in Flowers Field overlooking Downtown Raleigh.
Please bring your own blankets, chairs, baskets, or any other picnic items you’d like. This family friendly ride covers about 4 miles in total. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This free program is co-hosted with Oaks and Spokes, a nonprofit dedicated to making Raleigh a city where walking and biking are safe, accessible, and part of everyday life.

Registration opens two weeks in advance of the program date at 12:00 pm.

- Via Western Boulevard: Enter at Hunt Drive
- Via Centennial Parkway: Enter at Blair Drive
- Via Lake Wheeler Road: Enter at Goode Street
- Follow Signs towards Flowers Field
- Parking is only permitted in paved or gravel lots.
- Do not park in the grass or on the side of roads.
If there is inclement weather, the ride will be canceled and registered participants will be notified by Eventbrite email.
Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including this event area, are grass covered, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.
Event Site: Flowers Field is grass covered with uneven ground throughout. House of Many Porches is fully ADA accessible.
Parking: Recommended ADA/accessible parking area is near the Magnolia Room at 1700 Umstead Dr.
Restrooms: ADA temporary restrooms are located at Magnolia Room/Flowers Field. Indoor restrooms are available at House of Many Porches Market.
Service Animals: Service animals are welcome in the park.
